Lady of reliable software
“We’re a kind of testing authority for software-based systems”, says Ina Schieferdecker. It is she who issues a detailed bill of health to that which is later installed on millions of computers. At the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems, and as the Foundation Professor at the Fraunhofer Society, Berlin Technical University, she develops testing concepts and methods for software. In 2004 she received the “Alfried Krupp Promotion Prize” for young university teachers, one of Germany’s most valuable research awards – and in 2005 she won the ITEA Achievement Award in recognition of her work in the European context.
