AWD – Independence leading to success
AWD, Europe’s biggest independent financial services provider, is pleased to have been given the opportunity to sponsor “Germany - Land of ideas”. Spreading a positive image of Germany as a source of a large number of inventions both at home and abroad is a project that is actively supported by AWD.

The aim that AWD shares with other sponsors is to ensure that the courage, stamina and conviction that many inventors need to show in order to venture into new territory
despite initial scepticism becomes a model for the idea producers of the future and that the quality, reliability and longevity of German goods and services continue to create confidence at a time of globalisation, in which the wide range of goods and services on offer make it increasingly difficult to make the right choice.
AWD is particularly eager to take part in this project, because as an independent fnancial services provider, we too, are always keen to venture into new areas of activity.
Seventeen years ago, AWD’s corporate philosophy became a key feature of the history of independent financial services provision. AWD is independent of banks and insurance companies. This means that it does not offer any proprietary products, but draws on the offerings of product partners, which are now 300 in number. Unlike the exclusive agents of an insurance company or bank, our financial advisors do not offer any particular product; they always choose what is objectively the best solution for their clients.
Our unique feature as a financial service provider is known as financial planning. Financial planning is of inestimable value for our customers, since it means that we think through their financing for sickness, old age or occupational incapacity and plan it in advance in the same way as company consultants plan the budgets of large companies.
We all know that the reduction in state support needs to be increasingly offset by private financial provision. Our company thought ahead and optimised the pensions, investments, income support and current security of over 430,000 clients last year alone.
The state pension needs to be supplemented to a considerable extent by private pensions in almost all European countries. This has meant that the advantage of being independent of insurance companies and banks ever since its foundation in 1988 has turned AWD into a successful model at the European level. AWD has now grown into a major European player. With companies in eleven countries, AWD is Europe’s leading financial services provider.
