This is a task in which engineers, mathematicians and risk assessment specialists are all of equal importance. The aim, after all, is to analyse risks, quantify them and – as the final step – provide workable insurance solutions. This also applies to risks for which no empirical data are yet available. The prerequisite here is not only decades of experience but also skilfully devised forecasts in which HDI, in turn, employs innovative methods and calculation models that are subject to continuous refinement.

But the task goes further than that – the engineers at HDI Sicherheitstechnik are in particularly strong demand when it comes to minimising risks and containing potential damage scenarios. And here it is more the rule than the exception that innovative concepts are developed which are subsequently put to “serial“ use. One recent example is the application of so-called permanent inertisation as a fire-protection measure in modern largescale storage facilities. This is now being employed by well-known clothing manufacturers and industrial bakeries.
