Thumann: Ideas are the key to our future
Düsseldorf, 06.02.2006. The Heitkamp & Thumann Group in Düsseldorf is welcomed as an official partner in the locality project ‘Germany – Land of Ideas’.
“As entrepreneurs, we are proud of our country. Germany is very much a land of ideas. And thanks to these ideas which come from us entrepreneurs, our staff and our researchers, our businesses grow and hold their own in the global marketplace. My company is internationally competitive thanks to the large number of good ideas from many of our staff,” explains Jürgen Thumann, Chairman of the Board of the Heitkamp & Thumann Group in Düsseldorf, on the occasion of the presentation of the company’s partnership certification. Heitkamp & Thumann Group in Düsseldorf is a holding company, bringing together 25 medium-sized, internationally active companies.

“The well-being of our country depends on one of the most important commodities – ideas,” emphasises Thumann, who is also President of the Federal Association of German industry (Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie - BDI). “And it affects not only our material, but our cultural well-being just as much. The Heitkamp & Thumann Group is involved in the ‘Germany – Land of Ideas’ project, because we are convinced that ideas and innovations are the key to our future. We want to help our country look into the future with hope and self-confidence, and we also want the many international visitors coming this year for the big sporting event to experience our country as a land full of ideas.”

“The BDI supported our landmark project from the very beginning,” explained Mike de Vries, Managing Director of FC Germany GmbH and therefore also leader of the ‘Germany – Land of Ideas’ project. He continues, “that the BDI president, Jürgen Thumann is lending his support as an entrepreneur to us and our work is, for us, a great signal of innovation and our capacity for the future.”
