ImmobilienScout24 is a new cooperation partner of the “Germany – Land of Ideas” campaign

Stay overnight with friends: combined offer for World Cup guests looking for a room
Berlin, 21 March 2006 – ImmobilienScout24 is a new cooperation partner of the “Germany – Land of Ideas” location campaign.
All the forecasts are predicting an onslaught of about 3.5 million fans during the Football World Cup, which is why it is expected that inexpensive overnight accommodation could be scarce. For this reason the “Germany – Land of Ideas” campaign has taken on the Internet facility of its new cooperation partners ImmobilienScout24 for the Football World Cup. Under the motto, “Stay overnight with friends in the Land of Ideas” it brings providers of, and customers for, overnight accommodation together quickly and inexpensively.

The system is as simple as could be: at www.land-of-ideas.com it is possible to find the FanClub Germany, where providers of accommodation can post their offers all around the twelve venues and visitors can search for it. The visitor to the Football World Cup can then come into direct contact with the host and agree on all the details. Accommodation will be available to rent exclusively during the World cup period, from 9 June to 9 July 2006.

In return for this, ImmobilienScout24 will present with one click at its address, www.WM-Zimmer-2006.de, the “2006 Selected Locations” lying within a certain radius of the World Cup cities. These involve the winners in the “365 locations in the Land of Ideas” competition that the “Germany – Land of Ideas” campaign has organised together with its project partner, Deutsche Bank. There will be a special event on every day of the World Cup year at one or other of these locations on the occasion of the presentation of the award.

“These cooperation arrangements are bringing tow partners together who are both pursuing the same goals,” says Mike de Vries, managing director of FC Germany GmbH. “With our online offering we are presenting our international guests with a friendly, cosmopolitan host country, and with the “365 locations” events we are presenting a modern, interesting and innovative “Germany – Land of Ideas”.

“Accommodation in private households will enable the fans from all over the world to cast a glance at ordinary everyday life in Germany,” adds Arndt Kwiatkowski, managing director of ImmobilenScout24. “We hope that with our portal and the new cooperation arrangements we will contribute to them really feeling they are visiting friends.”

The initiators
“Germany – Land of Ideas” is the campaign mounted jointly by the German Federal Government and German business, represented by the Federation of German Industry, to promote Germany as an attractive location. Its aim is to communicate an image of Germany, at home and abroad, as an innovative country that is open-minded towards the whole world and capable of great enthusiasm. The patron of the campaign is Horst Köhler, the Federal President of Germany. FC Germany GmbH with its managing director Mike de Vries is coordinating the campaign, which is supported by numerous German companies and partners from the worlds of science, culture and society. The campaign is implementing five core projects: the “Walk of Ideas” sculpture park, the “365 locations in the Land of Ideas” series of events, the FanClub, the International Media Service, and the Welcome Campaign.
