"Science is an international business," says Maria Leptin, a geneticist. She met her husband, an Englishman, at Cambridge. Today, they are both researchers in Cologne. "The world of science and academia has long since had a European community, or even a global community. Intellectual sharing works across all borders – without any prejudices."
