A good location for new ideas

“Germany – Land of Ideas” takes an information stand at the ITB
Berlin, 1 March 2006 – The “Germany – Land of Ideas” campaign will be represented with an information stand at the International Tourism Fair (ITB) from 8 to 12 March 2006 at the Berlin Exhibition Centre together with Berlin Tourismus Marketing GmbH.
The campaign will be presenting its aims and projects in this context. One particular highlight in Hall 12 is the presentation of the studded football boot in the form of a model against the background of the Reichstag building. Whereas visitors to the ITB can look at it on a small scale, from 10 March 2006 onwards guests to the German capital will be excited to see it as a giant sculpture forming part of the “Walk of Ideas”. They will have the opportunity beforehand to have themselves photographed with the scale-model version at the campaign’s stand. Information material will be available to all interested visitors, and the staff will be happy to answer questions on the promotional stand of the “Germany – Land of Ideas” campaign.

“We are delighted to be able to present the campaign in this context,” Mike de Vries, managing director of FC Germany GmbH, explains. “The International Tourist Fair is certainly an important meeting-point for tourism experts from all over the world, and if only for that reason provides an outstanding platform for the development of new ideas in this field. This applies particularly in view of the host role that Germany will be playing this year.”

The initiators
“Germany – Land of Ideas” is the campaign mounted jointly by the German Federal Government and German business, represented by the Federation of German Industry, to promote Germany as an attractive location. Its aim is to communicate an image of Germany, at home and abroad, as an innovative country that is open-minded towards the whole world and capable of great enthusiasm. The patron of the campaign is Horst Köhler, the Federal President of Germany. FC Germany GmbH with its managing director Mike de Vries is coordinating the campaign, which is supported by numerous German companies and partners from the worlds of science, culture and society. The campaign is implementing five core projects: the “Walk of Ideas” sculpture park, the “365 locations in the Land of Ideas” series of events, the FanClub, the International Media Service, and the Welcome Campaign.
