The Unveiling of "The Automobile"

After “The Modern Football Shoe” and the “Milestones of Medicine” the "Automobile" is the third of a total of six huge sculptures in the “Walk of Ideas” through Berlin.

Each of the sculptures symbolises the richness of ideas and the spirit of invention which characterise Germany’s composers, writers, scientists, engineers and perfectionists. More German ideas are concealed within the sculptures themselves: they have all been made using the innovative plastic material Neopor® by BASF and coated with a special new paint developed by BASF Coatings.

“Modern Printing”, “Musical Masterpieces” and “The Theory of Relativity” are the following sculptures that will be exhibited at prominent locations in Berlin’s city centre and unveiled between March and May 2006.
